FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- How do I book a session?
-
Reach out using the CONTACT page, we'll confirm a date and time that works for the session you need. Once a contract and deposit are received, your date is booked!
- Do you travel?
-
Absolutely. Any additional travel fee will be disclosed prior to booking.
- What is a Pre-Session Collab?
-
To make your session as fun as possible, we will collab via email or phone to discuss the look and vibe you are looking for. Creative elements will be determined, such as smoke, fire, ice, water, colors, etc. You can share inspiration images you may have as well.
- What should I bring to my session?
-
Full gear, uniform, cleats (we can't show your shoes if not!), helmet, and any props that complement (eye black, bats, sticks, balls, flags, pom poms, etc). For Seniors and other portraits, think about layers for your outfits. Include hats, jackets, accessory changes. Most importantly - bring yourself on time!
- Can I bring someone with me to the shoot?
-
Of course! As long as you won't get distracted or nervous on camera. I ask that anyone who joins us not take photos with their phone/camera as I'm shooting. If you are hoping for another person to be included in some of your images, make sure you let me know during our pre-session collab.
- What payment options do you accept?
-
Payment can be made using credit/debit via this site, Venmo or Zelle.
- What if I need to reschedule?
-
It happens! Typically we can adjust the session time if there are small patches of bad weather in the forecast. If you must reschedule, your deposit will be credited to the new date. During peak seasons, availability may be limited so it's best to only reschedule if absolutely necessary. Your deposit is non-refundable, session must be rescheduled within 1 year.
- How long does it take to receive my gallery?
-
Game Action galleries are typically delivered within 7 days. Individual portrait sessions - typically within 14 days. Media Day/Teams turn around depends on the number participating in the session. If there are delays in delivery, I will communicate that with you.
- Can I share the images on social media?
-
Yes! I want you to love and share your images (and love being tagged)!
- Will all players be featured equally in a Game Action gallery?
-
This is highly unlikely due to the dynamics of playing time and game play that are out of my control. If there is a particular player or story you would like to highlight, be sure to share those details with me PRIOR to our game session.
- Do you offer prints?
-
Yes! Your session fee includes an online gallery where you will download your digital images. I've tailored packages towards the popularity of digital images for social media, etc.
Prints are also available - everything from 5x7s to large vinyl banners. If you don't see what you are looking for, let me know and I can usually find it for you. These items are purchased a la carte.
- Katie, you are an awful athlete! Why do you love sports photography??
-
I have always loved sports! I worked for a minor league baseball team in high school and college, and for App State University Recreation (intramurals and club sports) for the 4 years I was there. Photography came later, I started in natural light family portraits. I still do some of those for close friends.
I love photographing sports and athletes because -
Whether it was a tough loss or the best game of your career, looking back at the photo evidence of how hard you fought is meaningful. Do you hate photo sessions? Awesome. Showing up unshowered and glaring at the camera actually makes for a better athlete portrait. I can work with that.
